Something about you in your words...
I've always had this fascination with that which is not there. Here lies the irony... creating in mediums to produce images that make the ideas real from an art standpoint. Though the glass never becomes full as the idea of things not there outweigh those that are. Here lies my mission.

How did you get started in art?
Like everyone else that has journeyed down this road, simply with an idea. The idea fueled research, experimentation, schooling, trial and error, and time... Time to work through the ideas and make them into something.
I guess from a history standpoint music, art, fiction and making things has been on-going for me. It's just a part of who I am. Illustration started by way of inquiries which set the ball in motion. Now I spend many the night refining, creating and producing for others as well as myself.

What medium do you like the best, and the least?
I prefer to stay in the realm of mixed medias. In other words, it's nice to got back and forth between the electronic format and traditional styles. This keeps it fresh and doesn't exhaust one over the other. Sometimes things can get frustrating on both ends but the freedom to take different approaches is a nice fall-back. I think I have alot to explore on the painting side of things still so while it isn't my least favorite it does pertain to the most mysterious. I tend to use what I can from all the mediums to some extent. The most important factor to me is trying to capture the idea or concept in a way that is visually exciting.

What artists influence or have influenced you, and how have they done so?
for motion work, I love everything that the company "imaginary forces" has created. They have done most of the big movie intro titles... very fast moving, kinetic style work. My list of artists change or grow every year. I would recommend my link section on the site to view some there work. I think my moods change on what approach or influence I want to take day to day. Variety helps to keep things from getting stale.
Musically, its runs the gamut but most of my listening these days falls more into the industrial / Goth / darkwave or electronic influenced type acts. I've recently discovered the music of Megaherz, which has been a real high-energy motivator... Other acts I've been listening to lately include: Skillet, Zeromancer, Android Lust, Kidney Thieves & KMFDM... It's just that sometimes, a good high-energy album is all I need to get the ideas flowing.

You take inspiration from... ?
Many sources, film, comics, art, music, artists, books, museums...
I like to keep a notebook or 2 available to write down ideas and work on them when I find time. Sometimes I enjoy going to the local book store or music outlet to spend some time looking at covers. There are so many exciting styles and variations that its easy to get inspired by what is being generated on the market. I call this energy, the energy that inspires new ideas and motivations. I'm asked at times "where" do you get your ideas from... and the answer is it starts with something like... ok this week I want to focus on ghosts, maybe next week "emotions", maybe after that something new incorporating combining ink, bones and collage materials... that's my agenda a to-do list of idea starting points.

What do you use to create your art?
My style unites and combines the mediums of traditional art and electronic.
I borrow alot of thinking from the traditional collage way of doing things and incorporate them into a more modern approach. This also allows clients to have files already suited and color corrected for publishing projects.

What projects do you have lined up for the future? In these days you're working on what?
I stay pretty active with the inflow of CD art, Book covers and various illustration jobs. The most exciting medium to me is the medium of TV and film, so I'm doing what I can to expand into those realms either through conceptualizing on up to actual motion production. Currently I'm assisting/planning etc. for the film Eyes of Chaos, though I can't say yet when its to come to a finishing point yet, as it keeps getting delayed on many levels... I'm also involved with some TV motion graphics imagery that feels real exiting to me. Beyond that I take it day by day...There alot of artistic type variations on presentations that I want explore that I'll be experimenting with down the road.

Is this the primary goal/focus of your work, or is it a vehicle for the communication of ideas?
My focus is the modern display of horror and fantasy through artistic mediums. Some call it art, some call it illustration, some call it visuals... but yes it absolutely serves as vehicle for communicating my ideas and perspectives. I think it starts with a mission of sorts, and reveals itself as it goes along. This is the fun part, the realizations not yet achieved.

Do you have a web site? That you find particularly inspiring?
Hmm, websites I love to look at http://www.marshallarisman.com/, Rusells Mills - http://www.permanence.de/ and Dave Mckean's http://www.dreamline.nu/.

What do you think about technology such as the internet, it's useful for your art?
I serves as a perfect portal for the world to access my art and get to the information quickly and efficiently. I don't think I could have reached as many people or opportunities otherwise.
Technology in addition has also provided me a way to quickly deliver a finished product overseas in a matter of minutes. This is something that didn't exist when I was growing up. We are definitely in an age where information and products can be interchanged at a rapid rate.

How you define your artworks?
I generally define my style as a combination of horror, fantasy, the surreal and collage-influenced image-making.I define my presentation as an exploration in visual darkness.

What is creativity for you?
Creativity is the exploration of ideas. Building something out of nothing. putting a face or image to a thought. Realizing concepts through mediums at hand and presenting them in a completed form.

In your capacity as an artist, what do you hape the effect of your work will be on the people?
Hopefully, intrigued, disturbed or perhaps unsettling in some reactions.
Some pieces are more of a thinking perspective, while others are very up-front in their meanings. Ultimately my goals are to strive for interesting pieces to represent cover work. If I succeed on that level then the effect was successful. I've found that when you work in the this genre you get reactions that run the gamut... so that's come to be expected.
